We test the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro during the Touratech Travel Event in Wales.
The production of BMW F750 GS models has been put on hold, in order to correct some reported issues with the engines.
Overall, I am really impressed with this bike. It’s not a R1200GS but it’s not that far from it anymore. The new BMW F850GS now incorporates most of the technology its big sister has, which will make many people like me who ride solo, rethink the bike we ride.
I am sure that many before me have been through this dilemma. I, for one, have been through it twice already. The first time, the mighty GS was the winner but the second time I ended up getting a R1200GS Adventure Rallye, my current bike, let me tell you why I chose it. I am sure that many before me have been through this dilemma.
The bike accelerates with pure precision. It listens to everything you ask of it and obeys immediately, there is no delayed response. Not only is it smooth in the way it rides and flows down the road, but it is powerful and comfortably reaches speeds of 60mph down national speed limit roads; its small engine is nowhere to be seen.
So, what are the options for a 21-year-old student who has completed her CBT but spent all her savings on motorcycle gear and consequently has no money left for the actual motorcycle itself?
We all love that feeling of riding smoothly along the road. We live for the thrill of the throttle. We desire to dominate that stomach lurching corner, riding off into the distance with utter ease. But the real question is, do we do so with our leather jacket, open face helmet and classic style? Or, do we sacrifice all that for top performance?
